Dr Dana Robaei - Founder & Director – Forest Eye Surgery

Dr Dana Robaei is a highly experienced ophthalmic surgeon with special expertise in cataract surgery and corneal diseases.

She completed her medical degree with Honours at UNSW, followed by ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital. She undertook two subspecialty fellowships:

  • Complex cataract & corneal surgery, Moorfields Eye Hospital (London)
  • Medical retina, Sydney Eye Hospital

Dr Robaei holds a Master of Public Health and a PhD in Ophthalmology from the University of Sydney. She previously held an academic appointment as a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney, and as a consultant ophthalmologist at Westmead Public Hospital for over a decade, where she trained future doctors and eye specialists.

Dr Robaei is a prolifically published author and presenter at major international ophthalmology conferences. She has published several academic papers on corneal conditions, as well as a book on childhood visual impairment. She is also an independent medical examiner, providing trusted and impartial assessments on a range of medicolegal ophthalmic cases.

She enjoys humanitarian work and volunteers her time and surgical expertise in Cambodia with the Australian Health Humanitarian Aid (AHHA), an Australian registered non-profit charity organisation. Dr Robaei performs cataract surgery and restores sight to those living with blindness in severely disadvantaged communities.

Dr Robaei is passionate about delivering up to date evidence-based care with the patient’s best interest at the core of her practice. She prides herself at communicating clearly, attending to the smallest detail, and operating meticulously to achieve the best possible vision outcome for her patients.
